Military Monitoring Recap; September 2016

Archives

Even though I didn’t have a lot of time to play radio in September, the time I did have turned out to be quality time and it turned out to be a good month for listening. The highlight of the month was catching both Japanese Air Force 747s as the Prime Minister of Japan visited Cuba after attending the UN General Assembly; Japanese Air Force aircraft, much less the Prime Minister’s aircraft, are rarely heard in coastal Georgia. Aircraft from ATAC also worked with VMFAT-501 at MCAS Beaufort, but I was never able to ascertain if they were Hawker Hunters or Kfirs.
