Military Monitoring Recap; December 2015

Archives

December was a busy month for me at work, somewhat limiting the time I had to play radio and the later part of the month was slow going for MilCom due to the Holidays, so the December 2015 recap is a bit slim. Two items of interest this month regard the 224th MI Bn at Hunter AAF and VP-26 at NAS Jacksonville:

  1. The 224th MI Bn at Hunter AAF seems to be switching from the callsign SUNNY ##, which it used with its RC-12s and more recently with its MC-12s to  SHADY ##, which was formerly used by their OV-1 Mohawks.
  2. VP-26 has transitioned from the P-3C to the P-8A and are now flying the P-8As using TRIDENT ## callsigns.
