Photos from the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge; 17 May 2015

Archives

Earlier in the week, I made a very early visit to the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. I got there early enough to catch some Black Crowned and Yellow Crowned Night Herons before they disappeared for the daylight hours and this time some of the Black Crowned Night Herons were close enough for photos. Wood Storks were in the process of building nests and there were huge numbers of Snowy Egrets showing their breeding plumage. I also caught a Whitetail Deer and her fawn and was able to get a photo of them! It’s a good companion to the photos of Common Gallinule families I’ve been getting at the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge during my last few visits there.
