Monitoring Jacksonville and Atlanta ARTCC From Savannah

Archives

If you’re interested in monitoring  Jacksonville ARTCC (Jax Center, ZJX) and Atlanta ARTCC (Atlanta Center, ZTL) VHF frequencies from the Savannah area, here’s some information you might find interesting.  I reset the hit count on the software that logs the scanner I use for monitoring Jax Center this morning to see what frequencies were busiest by hit count throughout the day.  This particular radio only scans VHF ARTCC frequencies, but the results for UHF frequencies would pretty much mirror the VHF results.  Note that from my location, I can receive the ground side as well as the air side of 132.925 and 132.425 but they are still very busy frequencies and would likely still be at the top of the list.

132.925 (363.200) – ZJX Millen/Savannah Low – 357 hits
132.425 (290.305) – ZJX Hunter Ultra High – 318 hits
126.425 (307.050) – ZTL Dublin High – 176 hits
127.875 (319.200) – ZJX Aiken High – 157 hits
135.975 (282.300) – ZJX Alma High – 146 hits
126.125 285.650)  – ZJX Statesboro High – 134 hits
133.625 (370.950) – ZJX Georgetown High – 114 hits
123.950 (273.600) – ZTL Macon Low – 94 hits
124.325 (360.625) – ZTL Clark Hill Ultra High – 89 hits
124.075 (351.700) – ZJX Summerville High – 56 hits
124.675 (282.200) – ZJX Jekyll Low – 44 hits
133.700 (256.900) – ZJX Baxley Low – 42 hits
124.700 (269.550) – ZJX Columbia Low – 42 hits
126.750 (277.400) – ZJX Brunswick Low – 34 hits
127.575 (269.025) – ZJX Waycross Low – 31 hits
128.100 (323.000) – ZTL Augusta Low – 21 hits

If you’re new to aviation monitoring, these would be the best frequencies to put in besides the local ATC frequencies for Savannah IAP, Hunter AAF, and Wright AAF that are listed on the MilAir page of this blog (link under the blog title above).
