Military Monitoring Recap; June 2012

Archives

June 2012 was the best month for MilCom monitoring I’ve had in quite awhile and it saw quite a bit of variety in what could be heard in the Coastal Georgia area.  I heard more activity from the F-16s at Shaw AFB than I have in recent memory.  Exercise Iron Dagger brought F-15Es from Seymour-Johnson AFB to Robins AFB for a week.  A Marine Division Tactics Course being held at MCAS Beaufort brought F-5s from VMFT-401 to MCAS Beaufort for several weeks and F-16s from the USAF 64th AGRS to the Savannah CRTC for a week.  At the end of the month, AV-8Bs from VMA-231 flew out of Savannah IAP for a weekend.
