Amateur Radio Ops – 8 October 2011

Archives

I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather today, but still took advantage of decent propagation to make a few contacts today.  With cold drinks and throat lozenges at hand, I used the home station and mobile station at different times throughout the day to put 27 stations in the log from the Scandinavian Activity Contest, the Arizona QSO Party, and general DX contacts.  10, 12, and 15 Meters all had great conditions.  15 Meters in particular was in excellent condition around 1200/1300 UTC.

That will conclude the amateur radio operations for the day, though.  It’s time to turn on the TV and watch some racing.  For the first time, the great Australian V8 Supercars race – the Bathurst 1000 – is being shown live on US television.  I’ve watched the highlight shows for several years now and I don’t plan on missing it live!
